My first session of Laser Hair Removal
Went for my first session yesterday. All I can say is "ouch!".
It is rather painful, as the laser uses heat to burn the hair root. It is done by conducting the heat from a very short end of a hair towards the root, so that it causes something like a mini explosion in the hair root. It was definitely very hot, although my doctor used a blower that blows cold air on the surface where the laser is pointed at. I cringed when I think of my next trip. And I have to endure at least 4 more sessions! Lucky she said that the first time is usually the most painful. Well, I certainly hope so. I also hope that this hair removal is permanent and well worth the effort and money.
A little tip: Do shave the hair 2-3 days before appointment with the doctor as this will be more worth your money since there will be a little of most of the hair to laser. Also, I was told that at any one time armpit hair that grows out is around 20% of the total hair. I suppose then before the first treatment, we should be at least shaving for the past 2 months so that there'll be more hair roots to burn? And that translates into fewer sessions and more cost savings?
Anyway, here's my first step towards a better quality of life!
